I'm back at it... (July 7, 2000)

Ok. It's been months. I ask for no forgiveness--such is the reality of rebuilding one's life.

For those of you who've never met me and are merely browsing this collection of invective (said browsing usually a result of boredom or a high tolerance for shoddy writing), and for those of you who like rehashed stories, let me expand upon what I've been doing with my life.

In Mid-February I decided I had enjoyed my fill of travelling to Louisville, KY. It didn't look like the ongoing treks to its outer suburbs (land of the Vegetable Medley and the Awesome Blossom) and the drain of life-hours listening to flight attendant instructions were going to be ending any time in the foreseeable future. So I quit and took a job with a mobile software development firm based in northern VA's own version of hell, Tyson's Corner. The planners who thought that this area should develop the way it did should be taken and have nasty things done to their toenails.

This new situation provides for all sorts of interesting opportunities. Aside from the traveling, which was bad on its own, my former employers seemed to have no interest in using my skills, including my four spoken languages, to good use. Now I'm traveling to Mexico and working in Portuguese as well. I'm learning Italian and trying to pick up some Cantonese. I have also been busy making myself busy, which has been a great use of my time. I joined The Arlington Players, a community theater group, I have gone hiking, camping and canoeing, I've gone on a few road trips, and have generally enjoyed Being and Doing.

I'll be writing more soon, filling in gaps and such. In the meantime, read about a recent camping trip, my take on one of this year's mistakes, or the rest of my sporadic entries.
